A POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT

The purpose of OWP is to remove plastic waste from oceans and rivers – in a way that contributes in a positive way to the local people working with the plastic collections.

SOCIAL IMPACT

The benefits we offer to our collectors

When plastic is removed from the ocean and from rivers that the local people use as a part of their daily life, this has an obvious positive social impact as they get access to cleaner waterways.

In addition, local communities are protected allowing each fisherman to continue fishing alongside collecting plastic, not to disrupt the local markets (limiting the amount of fish/mussels being caught).

Finally, to support each fisherman, they are paid well above the minimum salary levels. This allows the fishermen the access to doctors and their children to get better education etc.

THE 7 STEPS OF THE OWP DOCUMENTATION

This is how each step of OWP is documented

While we underline that there is no plastic from oceans and rivers in our current packaging, it is our ambition to include as much of this as possible in our future packaging.
